"Kids are the best audience around. They know what they like and they’ll let you know big time when they like something. This enthusiasm drives our pop culture, so it’s especially rewarding to inject health, science and social studies topics into theater and song for children. Knowing a song I helped write about worms and conservation (I Am A Worm) is sung at camps all over the country, beats the heck out of hearing my work on a national commercial. I grew up with School House rock, which I really appreciated as a kid not just because it was funny/cool music, but because I was being given something really useful to my life. I hope my work can be just such a gift."
