The Tarnival Project uses the extensive science education experience found at U.C. Berkeley's Lawrence Hall of Science to get the facts about tobacco and tobacco use out to the local public.
Funded by the California Department of Public Health's Tobacco Control Section, each component of Tarnival - the street theater, the web, the hands-on festival - are produced by an experienced department at the Hall. The Lawrence Hall of Science has been a pioneer in creating educational experiences that inform and empower people to gather information wisely and make their own decisions around science, science issues, and where science intersects with our lives. Advised by a star roster of people, the Tarnival Project truly aims to be a breakthrough in anti-tobacco education.
